The Freewill Russian Label "Vaterland Division" presents with psychotropic rage and Diogenes's equanimity...

Unexpected debut release from a very unusual Intellectual & Psychedelic Hardcore Punk project from Shakhtersk (Ukraine, now so-called "DNR") with almost 30 years of history!

The author's unconventional approach manifests itself both in swirling solo guitar passages and abrupt bridges, heavy, but melodic music prone to Noise Rock, and in frighteningly grotesque, on the verge of Absurdity or Phantasmagoria / Dystopia, "too intellectual for punk rock" "smart" lyrics.

Below is a brief history of the project on behalf of its founder, Andrey Yastreb:

"Formation" ... you can't call it a band: not a single gig, not a full lineup, so - one man project.

In fact, the "Formation" in 1995-1996 became the forerunner of the much more famous "Day of the Triffids".

However, as a result of the creative crisis, the original project soon changed its name to "Day of the Triffids", and its leader was the singer-songwriter Alexander "Salim" Kramarenko aka "Salkin".

In 2019, A. Yastreb, seeing the obvious "DT" crisis, turned to the guitarist of the band Dima "File" Zagorenko with a proposal to pump one of his drafts and bring it to the song format. Dima responded and so the first theme of the project was born — "The World" (in this version, "Geopolypes"). Dima, being a master of video editing, recorded a videoclip for this song. On what cooperation with D. Zagorenko were stopped.

In the spring of 2021, while in Moscow, A. Yastreb met guitarist Anton Artamonov ("Rodina", "Instruktsya po Vuzhivaniu"). At fruitful joint rehearsals, they were composed together the theme of the "Panopticon". And some other drafts that will be brought to the state of full-fledged songs in the foreseeable future.

Artamonov proved to be a grasping and very practical musician, but soon the Yastreb had to leave Moscow, which is why their cooperation formally ceased. Although we don't know what will happen to us tomorrow...

And already in his homeland, Shakhtersk, Yastreb turned to the only adequate sound engineer in those steppes... It was Alexander (out of modesty, he asked not to advertise his participation in the project), music profi well-known in death metal circles. With the full participation of this high-class musician, all three themes of this EP were recorded at his studio from April to July 2023.

Although cooperation with Alexander has been terminated at the moment, the news coming from the fields is encouraging - with the support of the crust hardcore band "Stake With Blood", this long-suffering project is likely to continue its existence again…

"Panopticon" was recorded in April 2023, the rest is July-August 2023.
