FTR​-​WEB 040: CHIV - No More Music (2016, RE 2023)

Turning over the last chapter in the discography of "CHIV". Talented Ural one-man project of extreme rarity sub-genre "Shaman Rock". The work bears a strong influence of the creativity & worldview of the notorious Altai's rock-shaman Alexander "Agniyar" Podorozhniy. A tribute to the true Altai's rock shaman and mentor is a powerful impressive "Forgive me".

These songs have absorbed the vivid echo of authentic Ural melos, endless wanderings and spiritual searches of the mysterious Russian Soul, performed by Ivan's wild, well-done singing-a shout to the equally powerful, as well as elegant guitar semi-acoustics.

On the final album of the project, the sound engineering skills have noticeably increased, Ivan's arrangements have become richer and more complex. And the songs acquired a much-needed "hit" due to the multiple repetition of "hook" refrains and a carefully recorded rhythm section.

According to the author:

"What is the album about? Yes, that's just about the fact that there is no more music - all the songs are sung and the words are said. At that moment I already understood that I would no longer play such music. That's what's happening now: no more repetitions and introspection. Songs can be written easier and faster, but it takes whole weeks to record them intelligently. My old ibanez bass died right in the process of recording, and to hell with it..."
