FTR-WEB 039: CHIV - Under The-Black Sun (2012, RE 2023)

We continue the planned series of reissues of the discography of "CHIV". Talented Ural one-man project of extreme rarity sub-genre "Shaman Rock". The work bears a strong influence of the creativity & worldview of the notorious Altai's rock-shaman Alexander "Agniyar" Podorozhniy. A tribute to the true Altai's rock shaman and mentor - "Kaliyuga" and the Cult of Ra".

These songs have absorbed the vivid echo of authentic Ural melos, endless wanderings and spiritual searches of the mysterious Russian Soul, performed by Ivan's wild, well-done singing-a shout to the equally powerful, as well as elegant guitar semi-acoustics.

By the second album, the sound became noticeably heavier and shifted somewhat towards "Metal". There are also characteristic "metal" solos.

Word to the author:

"The album is entirely dedicated to the arrival of Spring. And the sun is black, not because I quote rotifers, but because if you look at the sun for a long time, then a black circle stays in front of your eyes for a long time. That's exactly what this "black sun" is meant. The most favorite song is "Reflection". It's always smiling."

This is the music of bright sunny thoughts and serene spring aspirations. About the endless fields & forests of Native Land, Choice, Love and peaceful work on the Homeland! 🌻 ⛅
