The Freewill Russian Label Vaterland Division & the Protvino's Punk-Hardcore Crew 👊 with seething rage 😤 presents:

The only record that has come down to our time from the extremely modest legacy of the short-lived, but desperately dashing & bashing hardcore punk band "OBZH", friends and associates of their countrymen from the "World Fire". Suffice it to note that the lyrics of one of the main smash hits of this band, a banter-absurdist hardcore punk action - "Protvino is also Siberia!" (a kind of response-a challenge to the "Siberian Punk") belongs to the poet-ideologist of the "World Fire" - Vinnie Luzhin.

There are a lot of scientists and a lot of "gopniks",
Crooks, fools and alcoholics.
There are few hippies, punks and rockers here,
But here we are — and I don't give a fuck about the rest!

They were exiled here for the one hundred and first kilometer,
Poets were taught mathematics here,
Here is clean air and boredom without a gap,
And everyone will tell a thousand stories about it.

🗣 And now let's give our virtual microphone to the vocalist of the band, Dima "San":

"It was in the science-city Protvino, Moscow Region. The first attempts to play something occurred in the early Noughties. Then they started to gather in apartments and play acoustic guitars and all sorts of shit like drums from pots. All this happened under the working title "Pussy-hand". In creative terms, they focused on heritage of Egor Letov ("Grazhdanskaya Oborona") and Alexey "Ugol" Fishev ("Orgasm of Nostradamus").

After many shifts of participants and rehearsal bases in the form of apartments and garages, they came to this composition and called themselves "O.B.ZH." ("Oxymorons of Endless Life"). They began to actively perform on local gigs of the entire Serpukhov district and rehearse in the garage of Sergei "Punk", where this demo was made in one weekend.

Fortunately, in those days it was already possible to drag a personal computer to the garage with some kind of sound and try to record something. Then, after playing a little more, the participants began to leave for different cities of the vast and the group gradually disappeared into oblivion".

"O.B.ZH." were:

Dima "San" -- vocals;
Nekit -- bass;
Misha "Opa" -- guitar;
Serega "Punk" -- drums.

Recording and mixing -- Serega "Punk".

All sounds: "O.B.ZH."
